Meet Yevka Kobenko Kentucky Photographer!

Hi there! My name is Yevgeniya but people call me basically everything but that so let’s start simply, Yevka. I was born in Ukraine and moved to America when I was 5 years old. I lived in Florida for 20 years of my life and moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 2019. I was a full-time photographer in Florida and used to have my own Photography business for 6+ years. I’ve always been a creative person and love to challenge myself. I have been married for almost 8 years to the love of my life Alex Kobenko and we have 3 beautiful little boys together Liam (5), Abel (2), and Jackson (8m).
Q: How long have you lived/worked in Lexington?

I’ve lived in Lexington for 2 years and shortly after moving here, I started my blog.

Q: What led you to your current career and why do you love it?

I opened up my Instagram account back in 2012 when I was dating my now-husband. In 2015 I became a first-time mom and also for the first time a stay-at-home mom. Being the extrovert that I am, I would hop on to Instagram stories and just share about my everyday life and completely random things. I didn’t think much of it at the time but from there my following started to grow. Next thing I know people became more and more curious about my everyday life. I was getting asked to show my favorite baby products I’m using, what I purchased at Target, how I organize my closet, what toilet paper brand I use. Kidding. Kidding.. maybe. I think what attracted people to my page was my honesty and sense of humor. As the years went by my followers kept growing and they became my “Instagram Family”. They have seen me in every aspect of my life. From engaged, married, to becoming a first-time mom and now being a mama of 3 beautiful boys. I love everything about being a blogger. I love sharing my everyday life and making people laugh. I love that I can be a homemaker and be with my kids all day (or at least up until hubby gets home from work. Then I RUN upstairs for some me-time a glass of wine or wine bottle same difference). I love that I can still use the knowledge I have with photography and put it towards brands and companies I work for. I love everything about it.

Q: What would you like for people to know about your job/business?

I am not your average “Hey Guys!” kinda blogger. My page isn’t focused on just one specific topic. I have a wide range of different followers both men and women and not just solely moms. I really enjoy engaging with my followers and would love for people to check out my pages and really get to know me.

Q: What or who has been your biggest inspiration?

My husband and my 3 little boys inspire me every day to be a better me, a better wife, and a better mom. They are my biggest motivators and inspiration.

Q: If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Switzerland has always been on my bucket list. It’s the scenic views and simple lifestyle that draw me to it.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Lexington?

I love that there are so many ways to grow here. So many opportunities and I’ve met some of the most amazing people living here.

Q: Where do you take friends and family from out of town when they visit?

Some of our favorite things to do when we have guests visiting us are to check out the different distilleries, finding new places to eat, coffee shop hopping, spending the day at the lake, more food eating, Apple Orchards, and eating (we really enjoy eating).

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I can see my little family living on a couple of acres and having a homestead where we raise our boys in country life.

Q: If you could have lunch with any living person, who would it be?

I mean who wouldn’t pick Betty White??

Q: Where can we find you on your day off?

*insert cheesy mom joke* What’s a day off?

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Probably that day off!

Q: What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am a very sentimental person. If you ever randomly got me something just to make my day or something that you thought I would like. Chances are I still have it. I take things close to heart.

Q: What is a topic you wish you knew more about?

Business Marketing

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show & what are you currently binge-watching?

I don’t watch a lot of tv BUT WHEN I DO… You can catch me binge-watching all the Christmas movies Hallmark has to offer.

Q: What do you feel is an essential part of your daily or weekly routine that contributes to your overall well-being?

I think establishing a routine is the first step. When you establish a routine you have more clarity of your day and you are more likely to accomplish your goals and tasks throughout the day. Okay okay, I know how this sounds but.. I wake up at 5:30 am and head to the gym Monday-Friday. As a momma of 3 and being a stay a home mom I don’t get much alone time. I love taking that opportunity in the morning while my husband is still home to go do something for myself. After the gym, I come home and have a cup of coffee in peace and quiet while catching up on my emails. I get a few things done around the house and get them breakfast started. Things that I normally would do when I would wake up with the kids but the difference is now I can sit and enjoy breakfast with them instead of running around in chaos trying to get things done. If you don’t have a moment for yourself, FIND a moment for yourself. Maybe not exactly at 5:30 am but even waking up an hour earlier will benefit your overall well-being.

Q: If you were cast in a movie, who would your co-star be?

The Queen of Christmas movies herself…Lacey Chabert.

Q: Who is your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?

Does Christmas music count? I AM that one girl to be listening to Christmas music in May.

Q: If you could give advice to any group of people, what would it be?

It would be to the moms with young children. Some days you’ll come over and my house won’t look like I even have 3 kids. The dishes are done, the floors are clean, the laundry is caught up, and I’ll even have dinner ready (Nope. It’s not impossible). But there are also days where It looks like I have 10 kids and about 6 pets and my house is a complete disaster. I try to do the dishes but I end up chasing the boys outside in the sprinkler. Try to clean the floors but we end up making forts and playing with toys for an hour. I go upstairs to do the laundry and they follow me up wanting a bath so we pour in the bubbles and splash until the floor is soaked. I go to make dinner and… who am I kidding? I don’t have time to make dinner so we ordering. Like I said above it is NOT impossible to have a picture-perfect clean home but we choose what we want to sacrifice. In the blink of an eye, it will be the very last time we wipe the sticky smudges of the windows. It will be the last time you wipe the scribbles on the wall away. You might have 60 dirty dishes waiting for you at the sink now but one day it will be just 2. Soak in the moments because they won’t be little for long.

Q: Who would you nominate for us to interview next?
Vik Andrashko
