Meet Clare Miller of Clare Miller Homes!

I am a wife to an incredible husband, Adam Miller, and dog mom to two perfectly hairy golden retrievers. After ending a partnership several years ago, I opened a business on my own, Clare Miller Home. CMH works on residential-based projects as well as directly with other interior designers. We are 2 years old and have (soon to be) two showroom locations. My first location is in Lexington and my second location will be opening this September in Louisville. I love my stores and working with / learning about all types of people / places.

Q: How long have you lived/worked in Lexington?
11 years

Q: What led you to your current career and why do you love it?
Interior Designer – I love helping to make beautiful spaces that benefit their inhabitants.

Q: What would you like for people to know about your job/business?
Clare Miller Home is experiential and contemporary furniture and home accessory showroom located in both Lexington and Louisville. We specialize in working with trade and love collaborating with walk-in clients on projects large and small.

Q: What or who has been your biggest inspiration?
I would say travel – I love walking around different cities/towns and exploring all the architecture and charm they have to offer.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Lexington and what is your go-to item on the menu?
My husband and I can’t get enough of Papi’s! Love their street tacos!

Q: If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Italy! The food, architecture, history – all of it is so inspirational.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Lexington?
I love watching us grow. I like to think of Lexington as a “small big town” in that there’s a lot going on but such a great sense of community at the same time.

Q: Where do you take friends and family from out of town when they visit?
I am mostly a homebody but when entertaining, we try to plan around a Keeneland meet or to one of our favorite local restaurants.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I hope to still be thriving in my business! And maybe with a few children in tow.

Q: If you could have lunch with any living person, who would it be?
Martha Stewart – I think she would have me giggling all day long. I love her humor and how hands on she is at her farm.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
My husband and I always dream about spending a year abroad, just experiencing as much as possible.

Q: What is something that most people don’t know about you?
We had our marriage blessed by the Pope in 2019 – very surreal experience.

Q: What is a topic you wish you knew more about?
Plants! I have a super talented store manager in Louisville who has incredible knowledge of all plants – I envy her! And I can’t keep anything alive myself!

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show & what are you currently binge watching?
Ted Lasso – both binging and is my favorite right now.

Q: What do you feel that is an essential part of your daily or weekly routine that contributes to your overall well-being?
I take a ceramics course in Louisville to keep me creative, calm, and patient.

Q: If you were cast in a movie, who would your co-star be?
Humor makes my world go round so it would have to be someone like Jason Sudeikis or Maya Rudolph

Q: Who is your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
Kings of Leon – though Hall and Oates can really get me through

Q: If you could give advice to any group of people, what would it be?
Listen to your gut! I’ve held back on going for projects or aspects in my business for either being uncomfortable or out of nerves. 10/10 times I wish I would have gone for it in the first place.

Q: Who would you nominate for us to interview next?
Lauren Henson
